Wednesday, December 4 and Friday, December 6 from 4:30pm - 7:00pm and Saturday, December 7 from 9am-noon the Mayor's Youth Council will hold their annual Christmas Food Drive at Kroger Marketplace benefiting the Interfatih Council on Poverty food bank. Come out and meet our youth as they give back to families in need during the holiday season. They will be located inside the store at the right side entrance. A box will be located at the entrance for shoppers to drop off non-perishable food items.
The Interfaith Council on Poverty is a cooperative effort of more than fifteen local Christian churches from different denominations dedicated to serving residents of Hernando and Nesbit in Desoto County, Mississippi. They operate a year-round food pantry and conduct special projects for children, seniors, and families throughout the year.
Below is a list of food Items that are need, however all non-perishable food is appreciated.
