It sounds almost too simple to be true, but by reading regularly with your children during their preschool years, you are giving them the biggest boost toward a successful education they will ever get.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is an early literacy initiative that provides new, age-appropriate books each month to children birth to age five – FREE of charge.

The goal of Hernando Excel By is to improve early childhood education by making sure kids have access to age appropriate books. Each child can look forward to new and exciting reading adventure from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library until their fifth birthday as long as they reside in the Hernando city limits. Should the child move outside the city limits, they will automatically exit the program.

All families in the Hernando city limits with preschool children (from birth to the child's 5th birthday) are eligible to enroll in the program.

HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE IMAGINATION LIBRARY?

  1. Give the gift of reading and help create a foundation for success by helping to support early literacy
  2. Sponsor a child for a year through a donation of $25/child
  3. Volunteer to help with early literacy activities
  4. Be an advocate - tell your friends, neighbors and coworkers about this exciting program

We can prepare our kids for a lifetime of success in reading and learning simply by talking and sharing books together every day in the years before they start school.

Your contribution will be made to Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, with federal identification number 94-3421724, is an IRS 501.c.3 organization and will be tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
