Uniformed Patrol Division

Uniformed Patrol Officers patrol the city streets, answer calls for service, and work with the community to solve trending problems.

K-9

We are proud to have two K-9 teams in service for proactive patrol work, criminal apprehension, building searches, drug detection. Our K-9 teams complete rigorous training and are certified through the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association.

Criminal Investigations Division

The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) consists of investigators whose primary responsibility is to investigate and follow-up on felony investigating crimes against persons, property, financial crimes, deaths, and other incidents requiring expert investigations and are also responsible for collecting and analyzing crime scene evidence.

Special Investigations Division

The Special Investigations Division (SID) is responsible for investigation crimes involving narcotics and the sale of narcotics.

DUI and Traffic

The Hernando Police Department employs two State-funded traffic officers to focus specifically on traffic safety.

Honor Guard

The Hernando Police Honor Guard consists of four officers responsible for representing our department during ceremonial events such as funerals, the Fallen Officer Memorial, or parades.
