For ages 5 through 14.  Hernando Parks & Recreation's League focus and mission is to provide a program that will be fun, safe and foster growth in the skill of baseball. The program is designed to teach kids the fundamentals of baseball in a less competitive setting.  The league is affiliated with Dizzy Dean Baseball. 

Spring Season

• Age group determined by player's age on or before April 30th of upcoming season. 
• Regular season games occur early April through late May. 
• Games are typically played Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings.
• Cost: $90 for DeSoto County residents / $110 for Non-DeSoto residents. 
  •  Includes jersey and hat.  Parents are responsible for providing/purchasing any additional uniform requirements such as: pants, socks, belt, cleats, etc. 

Fall Season

• Separate season from the previous spring. 
• Regular season games occur mid September through late October/early November. 
• Games are typically played Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings.
• Cost: $60 for DeSoto County residents / $80 for Non-DeSoto residents.

For ages 3 to 16.  Hernando Parks and Recreation is associated with the Mississippi Soccer Association and offers a recreational 8 game soccer league available to boys and girls.

Little Kickers- 3 year old soccer program

• Introductory program to teach basic skills and understanding of soccer.
• Sessions occur Saturday mornings alongside recreational league games.
• No official games or teams. 
• Cost: $70 for DeSoto Co. residents / $90 for Non-DeSoto Co. residents.
  •  Includes program t-shirt and a soccer ball.

5v5 Summer Soccer

Hernando Parks and Recreation will again host their 5v5 Summer Soccer program made available to participants ages U8-U14. I have been asked about having a program for players during the summer and after doing some research this type of small, sided program is offered in many other different places during the summer.

5V5 – Hernando and surrounding area players and parents looking for somewhere to get games, develop as a player, and play in a fun and enjoyable environment during the summer off season. This 5v5 summer soccer would be played at the Hernando Soccer Complex 900 Bella Vita Way Hernando, Mississippi and overseen by the Hernando Parks Department. Due to the small fields, it will force the players to make quicker decisions. There is no better way to improve your skills and have a blast with friends while playing soccer!!

Teams – This Summer League will be offered to teams and all registrations will need to be made as a team. There will not be any individual registrations. This will allow anybody to get their friends together and form a small-sided team. All teams will need to have an adult as their contact person. Teams will consist of 5-10 players. Each team will be responsible for supplying their own jerseys. Space is limited so register early.

Summer Soccer Details:

Cost: $400.00 per team

2024 Season: Early June - Mid July

Game Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (Depending on number teams registered)

REGISTER NOW - APRIL 30th

Description: An introduction to the fundamentals of volleyball that is led by Relentless Volleyball Academy’s trained and licensed coaching staff.  This program will include individual instruction as well as live game opportunities through scrimmaging.  The final 3-weeks will include with “tournaments” so participants can put into action the skills they have developed. 

 Participants will need to provide their own personal equipment (gym shoes, knee pads, shorts/spandex)
