7) Consent Agenda
A) Approve Blue Ribbon trip to Washington, DC for Mayor and 2 Aldermen.
B) Authorize Gia Matheny to attend the Main Street Now national conference in Birmingham, AL on May 5-8, 2024 and pay registration and travel.
C) Authorize Mayor Johnson to sign the FY 2023 Continuing Disclosure Engagement Letter with Butler Snow.
D) Authorize J. Lankford to attend Haz-Mat A&O Certification Course in Pearl, MS at the MS State Fire Academy on January 21-25, 2024, also authorize to pay registration and travel expense.
E) Authorize C. Dowell to attend Haz-Mat A&O Certification Course in Pearl, MS at the MS State Fire Academy on January 21-25, 2024, also authorize to pay registration and travel expense.
F) Authorize C. Ross to attend Haz-Mat A&O Certification Course in Pearl, MS at the MS State Fire Academy on January 21-25, 2024, also authorize to pay registration and travel expense.
G) Approval for Mayor and Alderpersons to attend the DeSoto County Economic Council Capitol Day in Jackson, Mississippi on February 14-February 15, 2024 and for travel, lodging, and per diem.
H) Request from the Hernando Optimist Club to temporarily close streets for the A’Fair in Hernando (Arts & crafts Fair) and 5K on May 18, 2024 from 4:00 am to 6:30 pm.
I) Request to close the streets on the west side of Hwy 51 around the DC Courthouse for the DeSoto County Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 7am-1pm. We will need to close Panola Street (Mudbug will use) off the square, Losher, Caffey, and Commerce on the sections that touch the Square for vendors to set up by 7:00 am. Businesses will be informed of the road closure.
J) Request $1,500.00 for sponsorship from the Hernando Optimist Club for the A’Fair in Hernando. (Same amount as last year)
K) Approval to charge $35.00 to customers for water online chargebacks and increase NSF fees to $35.00.

17) Approval to accept the lowest/best base bid of $374,671.00 plus Additive Alternate 1 bid in the amount of $115,757.00 for the EWP -Heritage Cove project from Southeastern Pipeline & Environmental Services per Neel-Schaffer’s recommendation.
18) Approval of the best/lowest bid for the Hwy 51/W. Oak Grove Road Roundabout per Neel-Schaffer’s recommendation.
19) Approval of the “Recreation Design Services” contract between the City and Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc for baseball/softball facility construction at Renasant Park/ Civic Center locations.
20) Approval to accept the Keaton Landscaping (DBA B&B Landscaping) bid to perform grass maintenance for the City Parks as well as landscaping and grass maintenance for the Gale Center in 2024.
21) Approval to enter into the agreement with TruGreen Commercial for weed control and fertilization services to the Civic Center fields and Hernando Soccer Complex in 2024.
22) Approval to accept the lowest and best bid of $296,750.00 from EEP (Emergency Equipment Professionals) for the purchase of a new ambulance.
23) Request to submit project activation to MDOT for the Mt. Pleasant Bike Lane Project, as approved by the MPO.
24) Appeal of the denial of PL-1775 - Hilltop Body Shop Variance – Request for a Variance to allow a 6-foot fence and a 20-foot bufferyard. The subject property is located on the west side of U.S. Hwy 51 N, north of Nesbit Rd and south of License Dr, more specifically 2181 U.S. Hwy 51 N, in Sections 24, Township 2, and Range 8, Chance Walker, IPD, representing Ronnie Rowland, owner.
25) Appeal of the denial of PL-1776 – Longview Point Design Variance - Request for a Design Review Variance to allow metal panels on the exterior of the building. 28) Revision to the Board order approving gated access to Chapel Grove PUD - Located on the west side of Robertson Gin Road, south of Oak Grove Road in Section 23, Township 3, Range 8 and is zoned PUD.
