The Board meets the first and third Tuesday of every month, at 6 pm.
The Mayor and seven Board of Aldermen make policy decisions in accordance with procedures and responsibilities set out in State law. Each alderperson represents his/her Ward, with one alderman elected at-large and representing the entire city. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Hernando, Mississippi is composed of seven members. Six aldermen are elected according to their respective wards, and one aldermen elected at-large. Alderman are elected for a four-year term and are not limited in the amount of terms they may serve.
The Mayor or any two (2) Aldermen may, by written notice, call a special meeting of the mayor and board of aldermen for the transaction of important business.
The City of Hernando holds public Board of Aldermen meetings at city hall on the First and Third Tuesday of each month. Meetings are also live streamed and recorded on the city's YouTube channel at City Of Hernando, MS - Government - YouTube
